So you are going to judge this guy's whole career on this one play? And what are the other circumstances surrounding this shot? Was anybody on the Bucks on fire in this game? Was Jennings hitting from there earlier?

You've taken this video out of context and I doubt you know the answers to any of those questions.

And there are 4 defenders between Jennings and the basket. Only one of the Bucks was trying to hustle down the court at the time. You failed to mention anything about any of that.
No, not saying that brain dead decision by Jennings reflects his career. The circumstances are that he either didn't realize how much time was left (which I doubt) or he wanted to be the hero by making a running three (with 6 seconds) while disregarding his teammates. Ilyasova is wide open out at 3 line and maybe Jennings doesn't see him, which I doubt.

The answer I do know is in a situation like that, you still have time to get a closer look or find someone who does.

The 4 defenders should have been out further because a made 2pt shot means nothing.

Well, it was definitely a bonehead play, no doubt. I also doubt he knew how much time was left, which is bad especially for the PG not to know that.

Once I was in a game and we were leading by 3 pts. I had no idea there were only 17 seconds left to go (I was playing PF) and I had a wide open shot from about 30 ft. so I took it. As I was going up the PG hollered at me but it was too late. I launched it, made it and got mobbed by the sideline. I'm sure glad I didn't miss it and they came back the other way!

I may be wrong, but I prefer the upside to Brandon Knight vs Jennings.

Not sure why the Pistons did this?
Brandon Knight isn't a good distributor. He's too small to play D on SGs. He isn't good at creating space using the pick and roll or hitting the rolling big. He plays good defense and is a good spot up shooter. There's not much upside unless he suddenly learns how to pass the ball.

I'd see Khris Middleton was the bigger loss.

I'm not looking at anything "in a vacuum." I never said Jennings was a superstar or anything like that. But anybody who can score 17 pts in every NBA game he plays in is pretty good. Sure he aint perfect, who is? Nobody in this thread is nominating him for an all-star game or MVP or anything.

You guys who are saying Jennings is terrible have no idea what you're talking about. There aren't that many guys in the NBA who can average 17 PPG no matter how many shots they take.

Right, so those of us bucks fans who watch every bucks game have no idea what we are talking about... Talk about a dumb statement. Almost any NBA player who takes 16 shots a game will score 17 points.

If you're an efficient player you should be scoring about 22 PPG at least on 16 shots.

Jennings is a shoot first PG. I just don't see this as a good deal unless the team is built around him and lacks scoring.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. At least you did get rid of him. Have fun with Knight. Hopefully he'll do something better for you than jack up enough shots to give you 17 pts a game. We'll see about that.

And I said that you don't know what you're talking about if you think Jennings is terrible. He aint gonna win no awards but he aint terrible.

If he averages 13 and 8 on 43% or better shooting I'd call it an upgrade. Just as last year, their are guys that are capable, but need to get involved in the game. Something BJ consistently failed to do throughout his career. Being a 160 pound pg who can't finish and has subpar court vision im happy we got rid of him. He has shown no improvement over his career.

No he is not terrible. But for the amount of money he wants he is terrible. Compared to what you think he is, he is terrible. I'd have been happy to have him back on the bucks for 6-7 million. anything over that is way overpaying.

Even if Knight comes in and gives the bucks nothing I'm happy to have gotten rid of jennings. he had an inflated sense of his own value and never wanted to be in milwaukee to start with. Most bucks fans were terrified that management would eventually lock him up long term and ruin the near future of the franchise rather than focusing on building around a VERY promising young big man combo in Henson and Sanders. The Tobias Harris trade is still just killing us, because this team could have a serious future if he was still on the roster.

Then Jennings can talk about how the Stones are going to beat the Heat in 6.

Damn Chrisper, for a guy whom I've seen complain about the lack of parity in the league, you sure as hell giving the Heat a lot of support. I'm a Brandon Jennings fan. You could say that prediction was dumb but I like the passion and confidence.

This is a good move for both teams. Detroit gets the true point guard they haven't had in sometime. He'll learn a few more tricks from Billups. The sleeper in this deal is Khris Middleton. I saw him play in Detroit in April and was impressed. He's not overzealous like most NBA prospects and always keeps himself in the flow of the game. He's a guy I would describe as "sneaky productive.

Take off your Miami goggles, then. Every critic and their mother said the Bucks had no chance in the series and no chance to even win a game. It's called "injecting confidence into your team", and frankly, not sucking up to the Heat like just about everyone else.
