Yeah, that's what Tom Singer is saying in his latest blog post on the Pirates' page at MLB.com..... and he's saying INSTEAD OF bats rather than IN ADDITION TO bats.

That's where I was last year. I thought Huntington went after the wrong target when he acquired Lee and Ludwick rather than pitching help. (And it appears that the second half collapse reinforces the idea that NH should have beefed up the pitching staff, rather than add hitters.)
If Singer is right, I believe NH is going after the wrong target again. The 2012 staff is more robust than in 2011, and we have several viable pitching candidates sitting at Indy.
