I didn't know Incognito threatened to kill the guy when I posted those things. That's a crime.

Nor did you care. You immediately started making fun of the situation without knowing anything else of the case. Others waited until they started making conclusions. You gonna run back to the niners board and keep the charade up?

How could I care about something I didn't know happened?

You immediately started making fun of the situation without knowing anything else of the case.

Wrong. I questioned the LEGAL aspect of what he did. I never said what he did was ok; otherwise I wouldn't have called the guy a dickhead yesterday. I wasn't sure it was a crime until I learned he threatened to kill a guy. I don't understand what your beef is about this.

You're clearly venting your indignation about this, but you're barking up the wrong tree.

I don't get the why didn't Martin go to the police comments.

It had to be a difficult situation....you don't want to cause problems on the team and you keep hoping the situation will end. Just because the guy was a big dude and a football player doesn't make him exempt from not knowing how to handle bullying. Not everyone is mentally tough or even prepared to handle bullying. This was probably the first time Martin had to deal with hard core bullying, so excuse a Stanford educated guy with Ivy league parents for not understanding this aspect of life.

If it was that easy bullying would not be a problem!

RI has real issues and is as far from a team leader as someone can be.

Incognito got carried away. The end. I'm absolutely positive this has NEVER happened before in an NFL locker room.

Incognito? No, he surely isn't.

Oh I think Incognito is completely stable. He's probably just been a spoiled, pampered, assholey, relatively famous athlete since he was in high school and nobody ever disciplined him.

It's fucking football, for crying out loud. If this dude is that weak of mind, fuck him. I really am starting to believe that it will end up flag football. Man the fuck up, bitch.

Still wanting to know specifically what Martin should have done.

I just realized the text message they read on ESPN said, "You're still a rookie." Did he mean he's like a rookie, or was that text message from last year?

I do not understand some of these criticisms of Martin.

"It's the NFL."
So because its a physical sport he should have to put up with people mistreating him all the time? Apparently, the NFL is not a real job because you can just do whatever the fuck you want to people and say toughen up.

"He's 300 pounds, he should have stood up for himself."
Oh so if you are big enough you should solve your problems by physically intimidating people. Or he should have assaulted the guy. I thought it was obvious that punching someone is assault and he could be charged.

"Who cares he's a millionaire."
No he's not. His salary is 390k this year. Then there are taxes, agent fees, and other players parties to pay for. And even if he was a millionaire does that make it ok? People who act as if money solves all problems clearly don't have money. People with lots of money are still people. They still have all the same emotions poor people have, they still live in the same world.

"What he did was a sign of weakness."
He had to deal with people being ass holes to him every day and nobody stood up for him and he is weak? These guys are supposed to be his friends and they treated him like shit. Staying there and putting up with the behavior would have been weak. Standing up for yourself is saying I'm not putting up with this any longer.

There are other even more ridiculous arguments put forth but I didn't bother responding to them. The guy stood up for himself in a mature, normal way and people are ripping him. I really overestimated the average intelligence on this board apparently.

That's sad you think he's stable. His words and actions clearly aren't those of someone who is.

Someone can be mentally stable and still be a complete asshole. Those are 2 entirely different issues.

He is scared. He is full of hate. He has low self esteem. He is racist. He is a bully. These are not traits of a man in good mental health.

Not shocked at all that the same people who told him to "man up bitch" now want to downplay the situation with "he went a little too far and this has happened before" as if that makes it okay.

I think we're talking about 2 different things. Not all crazies are bullies, and not all bullies are crazy.

...Oh, and Incognito has low self esteem? I would say he has the exact opposite problem.

By the way, ESPN, FOX, NFLN, etc are thanking God this happened (especially in the middle of the season).

Not shocked that you are wearing a badge when taking up his cause. I'm pretty sure James Harrison was a model human being.

Yeah, it surprised me early on when so many people looked at Martin as if the problem somehow stemmed from him. But as it goes on I realize that a lot of people think its actually okay to single people out for this type of treatment.
