.265/.385/.491 vs. .255/.323./.401
Well yes, that was mostly tongue-in-cheek but the point stands that a lot of this is based off of hype rather than production.

thats actually a good point
is this whole contract guaranteed?
Shut up, stupid.
Now let's see if anyone's gonna sign Kimbrel and Keuchel.
I'm genuinely not sure what he's done on the field that warrants this type of deal.Shut up, stupid.
Coming from a Pirates fan, this is kinda funny.
2015 was so great, but, yeah, mostly a lot of hype otherwise. This guy had a WAR over 5 as a 19 year old rookie and mostly has not built on that....other than the MVP year.Well yes, that was mostly tongue-in-cheek but the point stands that a lot of this is based off of hype rather than production.
players hit .319/.413/.595 (like he did in 2017) all the timeI'm genuinely not sure what he's done on the field that warrants this type of deal.
He was amazing in 2015, yes, but other than that the production doesn't add up.
I can't believe no one will sign Keuchel
Saying he's not worth a record-setting deal =\= saying he's not a great player.players hit .319/.413/.595 (like he did in 2017) all the time
In fairness, I'll never claim a large portion of Yinzers are the best and brighest. There's gobs of people who are Pittsburgh fans who make me shake my head for a variety of reasons.Coming from a Pirates fan, this is kinda funny.
You're aware what the Yinzers did when Dave Parker was playing there, right?
And ruined the season hitting 1b wrong....even I know not to land flush on a base like that.players hit .319/.413/.595 (like he did in 2017) all the time
Keuchel's 2018 wasn't very encouraging. Pedestrian strikeout rate and he saw his groundball rate dip, and his slider fell off last year.
The extra 3 years will be his 37, 38, and 39 seasons. I guess he figured selling those seasons for 10M a year was just found money. Who cares about AAV when you are including nonproductive seasons.
Guy's trending towards a HOF career.I'm genuinely not sure what he's done on the field that warrants this type of deal.
He was amazing in 2015, yes, but other than that the production doesn't add up.
