By the middle of this deal he will look and play like Ryan Howard did in his later years.
Chubby, black, and doing Subway commercials?By the middle of this deal he will look and play like Ryan Howard did in his later years.
2/10, PF plz.
The extra 3 years will be his 37, 38, and 39 seasons. I guess he figured selling those seasons for 10M a year was just found money. Who cares about AAV when you are including nonproductive seasons.
Well he probably wouldn't sign a 3 year 30 million dollar deal at age 36.So ten years @ $30/year = Fuck that!
But 13 for $330..... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD
LMFAO!!!
yea be interesting to see is this front loaded or back loaded#1 contract in terms of length
#1 contract in terms of overall $$$
#13 contract in average annual value
For right now, it's great for the Phils in that they're paying a star player a shade over $25M per, reasonable by today's standards, and it gives them flexibility to add more.
But damn, the last 3-5 years of that baby are gonna be ugly.
Congrats to the player who has to the career WAR that matches.....Denard Span's.@Chewbaccer
if acuna can hit 3 more hr's and knock in 25 more rbi's a year...the braves will have to break the bank to keep him
Well he probably wouldn't sign a 3 year 30 million dollar deal at age 36.
Well yes, that was mostly tongue-in-cheek but the point stands that a lot of this is based off of hype rather than production. In 4 fewer seasons and 1999 fewer plate appearances.
Harper wanted an opt out, Phils said no.I guess he has zero faith in his abilities to opt out say, 4 or 5 years from now, and get even more guaranteed money per year so he's just shooting for a total value right now. That fact alone should have been a giant red flag to Philly that this contract will be an albatross since it says since he didn't want an opt out, he knows he might not be good enough to get more money later on.
On the flip side, that deal also could have included opt outs where he could (probably would) have gotten a pay increase.Well he probably wouldn't sign a 3 year 30 million dollar deal at age 36.
.265/.385/.491 vs. .255/.323./.401Congrats to the player who has to the career WAR that matches.....Denard Span's.
