Yeah you hate to waste one of your good relievers on that game too. You know Gabe loved seeing them have to bring in Hoffman. It was probably him that told the first batter to come in and take the first 2 pitches to try and stretch it out. Luckily they got that double play.

But on the bright side, we got Alvarado coming back

Good because Soto is leaking oil since the All Star break. Soto and Strahm seem to both have a bunch of innings on them.

I love the move of bringing Kimbrel in in the 9th down by a run. It seems like 10 years ago teams never did that. They'd designate someone a closer and only bring him in in save situations so in games like this at home he'd just be sitting there. This way you're showing the Giants one run is nothing. You're planning to win in the bottom of the 9th.

You can’t pitch Kimbrel in extra innings and they know that. He tips pitches and the ghost runner is going to signal what he’s pitching.

Crazy series. I don’t think they played all that well. Ironically, the best aspect of the Giants series is likely Nola’s 7 innings with 2 ERs on Monday. And yet they took 2 of 3. And we’re a clutch hit away from sweeping them. 2.5 game lead on first wildcard. Cardinals Angels then a tough September around the corner. Phil’s only went 12-10 vs that easy slate they saw in August.
