Dear God that series was horrible. Just really bad baseball and Thompson was horrible today. What is he doing? That lineup today and then pulling Sanchez with 73 pitches throwing a no hitter through 5. I hate how this team plays down to competition.

This is a sub .500 team if you take away their ridiculous June.

LFG Strahmie! We need to preserve the win for Walker.
Man, not the way you draw it up but effective. Strahm doesn’t get the lefty but he gets the righty who already HRed tonight. Baseball is a crazy game. Let’s get some insurance now!

Bohm is so fucking money
Question:
Do you break him if you encourage him to add some pull to his game? Couple of pitches he's seen tonight inside he could have driven for power. That's why he hasn't had the power numbers you want from him. But if you do this do you break him like Kaplan and crew broke Rhys? Tough question.

I don't know. I leave the mechanics to the coaches. I wouldn't mess with him too much during the season though.

Less than 24 hours before the trade deadline. I wonder if we make a move for someone, like maybe Pham or Canha?

No doubt. That’s what I thought he was doing this winter. He changed his body but what he needs to do is work on pulling the baseball. CBP has that short porch in LF. My thing is that he puts the pull in his bag. He doesn’t use it enough. 2-0 or 3-1 or other fastball count, cheat a little bit on the fastball and if you get middle in, take a hack. Then when you’re at 2 strikes you change the approach and become the version of Bohm we see now.

I think the lineup needs the biggest help right now. I’d be excited about one of those. My rank of what I want:
1. LF rental - ideally I want the RH bat that has power
2. Starter - I don’t want the innings eater guy. I want a guy who can challenge Aaron Nola as the number 2 starter. I’m really worried about having to count on Nola for a Game 2 start in any series.
3. Back end arm for pen - Phil’s bull pen has been their best and most consistent unit this year. But I’m worried about Dominguez and Alvarado’s health. Kimbrel is 35 and he’s going to pitch a lot of innings. Guys like Strahm and Hoffman have been god sends but they’re also likely to have career high in innings. Can never get enough bull pen.

Come on Dombrowski!

Added Lorenzen to the starting rotation. Not a fan of a 6 man rotation, unless you have things sewn up. Just gets our better starters, less starts. Good to have for insurance, in case someone goes down. I imagine Sanchez or Lorenzen can also pitch out of the pen

Infielder is just another Josh Harrison. Meh. I like the starter though and I like a 6 man rotation. Last year the starters (especially Wheeler and Nola) had dead arm in the playoffs. They’re showing residual of that now this season. Hopefully this keeps innings down and provides more strength for them to keep their arms live.

So I guess they didn't add any RH of/1b bats. They are probably fine as long as no one gets injured down the stretch. This Rojas kid plays a good centerfield. Rojas, Marsh and Castellanos is actually not a bad defensive trio.
