Where is last years list so we can see how much that matters. Ohio State was really young last year and that obviously hurt them last year.
The offensive line had the least experience of any returning line in D1 and were starting a QB who had not played competitively in a football game in 2 years (happened 10 days before the season started).

The running back was new and the receivers were unproven except for Devin Smith.

The defense returned lots of players from a terrible defense the year before and lost 2 1st round picks to the NFL.

Many of the starters were starting for the first time as red-shirt freshmen.

It was pretty amazing when you think about it.

Maize is only posting this because Michigan is number one and is trying everything he can to convince himself and everyone else that Michigan will actually be good.

What's that old saying again? Ah yes. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in awhile.

This really matters if you are returning good players.

Really depends on what type of players. A bad OL can become good with experience and another year of development. Safeties can make huge jumps after learning from some bad moments. RB isn't a big concern when it comes to starts

Yes and I can hit the lottery. As I have said before: Some do some don't, odds are better if you are returning good players.

Michigan is ranked #1 in something. Better rush to the CFB boards and post this.

Some teams are returning really good players with valuable experience. Some are returning a bunch of stiffs who didn't get to a bowl game last year.

I know which one my team is.

Which is still bad, correct? So if they haven't ever proven to play good ball one cant assume theyll just start playing good magically

Who said anything about "magic?" Harbaugh has a track record of turning around programs that had until that point underperformed (see his stint with the Niners). And it helps if the team has talent, which Michigan has.

So they will work for, Harbaugh will make damn sure, and at this point it is more likely than not there will be improvement. How much? We will have to wait and see.
