The Real Batman
The only time Phil Jackson has coached a team without superstars, and look how great a coach the Zen Master really is. He has to be the luckiest man ever in sports, followed closely by Pat Reilly.
I hope they don't hire Hinkie. As a 76ers fan, I consider the man a genius.Mitch Kupchak needs a job.....
Phil resigned Melo in his first year only because he knew there would be hell to pay if didn't. He never did like the player because Melo stops good ball movementlol @theKnicks.
Phil is right, they do need to move on from Melo.
After all of the stupid shit that Phil has done as GM...Dolan wants to get rid of him over one of the only 2 things that he's actually been right about since he was hired.

Yeah, I know why Phil re-signed him. He never should have agreed to the NTC though. Doing that left Melo holding all of the cards.
To be fair, they resigned Mello mostly because, especially pre-Porzingas, the Knicks had absolutely nothing else
Agree 100%. It's the same reason the Lakers gave Kobe the money they did on his last contract. End of the day, it's a business and they need butts in seats and advertising revenue. Guys like Melo and Kobe accomplish both of those things.
I just think the NTC was a bad idea.
Are you talking about Phil Jackson? When did he ever work for the Pistons?I love to tell you, "I told you so".
After the first front office job he did with the Pistons head coaching search where they ended up with mediocre retread Maurice Cheeks it was obvious.
He was a great coach, but he walked into situations where he had the most talent in the league. Sure, he was able to get them to work together, which is no easy task and previous coaches had failed at, but it is a completely different game assessing, drafting, and trading to build a team than it is to get the most talented guys to work together. Just like not all previously great players make good coaches or GMs, not all previously great coaches will make good GMs.

I wasn't aware of thatRight before he took the Knicks job he consulted on their coaching search, and did so horribly.
