Lamar is a very good QB, but I don’t ever see him winning a Super Bowl. He’s not the quality passer that Allen, Burrow, and Mahommes are and due to his running ability and he probably never will be. I think running QBs are ruined before they even get to the nfl when it is engrained that they can bail from the pocket when there’s pressure. A good pocket passer will navigate the pocket until someone is open. That’s a skill that’s very important in the nfl. It makes every route a potential target, whereas the mobile qb bailing from the pocket means only the routes on the side he bailed out of a viable target.

Having said all of that, the ravens would be silly to get rid of Lamar without a viable back up. It’s hard to find a qb who will play better. I just don’t expect him to have the passing chops to beat the elite when it matters.

Running QB implies he cannot throw the ball. 66%, 245ypg, 8.8ypa (led the League), 41 TD's to just 4 INT's indicates he is much more than just a running QB. He might have started out in the NFL as a running QB but saying he is just that now? Is just plain disrespectful.

Please tell me this an attention seeking troll thread. No one can be this stupid. Basically the OP is saying every QB not named Patrick Mahomes is trash and should be moved on from, which is fucking absurd.
Typically, he limits his stupidity to the PF but every now and again he shows up in the NFL board.....

SMH.

And the bottom of the barrel in the AFC are the Jets, Patriots, Steelers, Browns, Colts, Titans and Raiders. Unless one of them find lightning in the draft there isn't hope for any of those teams. (NOTE: Every single one of those teams would love to have Lamar)
I hate you.

OP has a point

Lamar has now lost 6 matchups where he was the clear favorite.

I will say last game wasn't really his fault in any way, but you can't just ignore the fact that he keeps choking as the favorite

Don't expect many on here to agree with you tho. People think my Tampa team should keep old Baker-mid field just because he made the playoffs in the weakest division in football lol
The Ravens were a -1 fave the other day, that's almost pick 'enm...not a clear fave.....

LOL.

Yeah, he can get stats in the regular season. But when he plays the big time games against big time teams he falls short. In addition to what I already talked about regarding running QBs, he simply doesn’t have the arm talent of elite QBs. I don’t ever see the touch on his passes that elite QBs have. Again, he’s not bad as a passer, but you don’t break the bank for an average passer. His running ability opens things up against average defenses. When elite defenses keep him in the pocket, he’s not near as good.

They should. Do you disagree? Your team scored more points than everyone but the Lions, Bills & Ravens. QB doesn't seem to be a weak link there. I like Mayfield.

Right...those are his 5 playoff years.

2018 - He was a rookie with 7 starts under his belt. I'm going to give him a pass for that game.
2019 - He had over 500 total yards (crazy), but too many mistakes.
2020 - Not much to say. Simply not good enough.
2023 - Not bad, but again...not good enough.
2024 - Played well in 2nd half, but too many mistakes in first half.

Last two years...losses against SB champ at home and tough Bills team on road. I'm not writing him off yet.
Honestly up to this year.
I fully expected him to fail in the playoffs. As might be well documented. But this year. I felt like he was a good enough "Quarterback" to get it done.

Weird as every year he gets better & now he has some of his fans thinking they should move on. This year is the best he's been.

Still a team sport people.

Build a #1 defense in the league so Goff can just manage a game.

The Lions were bad enough to accumulate some high end players and they've drafted well enough that its very much in the realm of possibility.

They just need to get healthy on D. They had the 2nd & 3rd best scoring D in the league for several weeks even after Hutch went down.

I'm not really even sure what 6 matchups he is talking about.
He/She obviously doesn't watch or know football, so your guess is as good as mine. Or him and Op are just trolling. He might be OldSchool's great great grandson who hates "8 ball' like grandpappy, klansman

And they have a lot of young players that could end up getting better. Thats why I mentioned its actually somewhat realistic

Quite possibly the greatest regular season QB in history.

Can't win when it really matters.

He is still ridiculously young at 28 years old, and has to have huge trade value.

Should the Ravens punt and reset?

If the goal of any franchise is to win a Super Bowl, I just can't see how Baltimore gets it done with Lamar as their QB.

:laugh3:

Yeah but the game is 2 halves not just one, and they both count. You can't overlook how he played in the first half that left them in a hole they were forced to try to climb out of. While he did play great in the 2nd half the TD drive that cut the lead to 2 was mostly Hill and Henry.

While he did not lose the game again this was his chance to change the narrative and his 2 turnovers, one that was potentially a 10 point swing in a 2 point loss, played a huge roll in yet another loss.

ok? my point is, because of his overall efforts, the game was still well within reach

Same old same old for me. Hoping the Celtics get outta this funk they've been in. Good to see you around again.
