Unfortunately, I tend to believe this report. King is pretty well sourced on Eagles stuff and is tight with Doug Pederson.

I think we will see an official decision by the end of this week on whether Wentz is going to start opening day, but I am leaning no.

First Eagles game is Atlanta and that one is going to be tough regardless of who starts. Second is Bucs and is pretty winnable with Foles, considering that Winston will be out. I think a 1-1 start is realistic, and 2-0 still quite possible.

Alshon Jeffery - WR - Eagles
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) will miss "at least" the first two games of the season.

However, Schefter reports Jeffery is expected to be activated off the PUP list this weekend, meaning the Eagles are confident he will not miss six games. Per Schefter, Jeffery "could" return by Week 3. Jeffery will miss games against the Falcons and Bucs. The Eagles host the Colts in Week 3. In Jeffery's absence, the Eagles will have a hodgepodge at receiver led by Nelson Agholor. Mike Wallace and second-year pro Mack Hollins will try to do work down the field. Jeffery is currently being drafted as the WR27 in PPR leagues. That's probably rich for a player who finished as the WR21 last season despite appearing in all 16 games.

There's some history to visit here, and Jay Schroeder/Doug Williams comes to mind...

Schroeder was traded off to Oakland the year after Williams was named the SB MVP in 1987. Williams came in for the Pro Bowler Schroeder after an injury and started the during the Playoffs.

Williams ended his career with an 8-9 record as the Washington QB starter, and Schroeder led the Raiders to an AFC Championship game in 1990.

If the two were anywhere near equal, yes. Wentz is a good young QB who if he can stay healthy looks like he will be a top 5 or top 10 QB for years to come. Foles is more a spare part that played his opportunity into a Markie Mark movie script...
