Boy I truly thought Kunitz would have at least gotten 2 for roughing the net.

Soooo...this is fun. This is the team I saw in the last two months of the year. Debilitating speed. And I just can't wait to watch Sheary for years to come. Bulldog on the boards, finish, good hands. Mannnn.

Also, the reffing all series has been bad, but tonight it's the Rangers playing just like crap. Heck, if Hank doesn't show up in the second early, could've been about 7-0.

I don't know if they just needed to get out some playoff jitters, or if they play too conservative in front of Z, but this is the Pens from the last 20 odd games of the regular season. Relentless pressure from four lines.

Signed for 2 more years cheap, RFA after that. I feel he really fits our style, could really be a bargain. Maybe alongside starter Matt Murray?

I thought they were gonna give Murray a year as a full time backup, but this postseason may change things...

Pens fans here were saying it would be a tough decision in an expansion draft between Murray and Fleury. I said it wasn't. This is why.

Luckily it shouldn't be hard finding a home for Fleury.

I have a feeling it will depend on offers/takers for MAF next year. Scary to think if they can find a home for MAF what they can do with that cap space.

My only concern is truly how bad are the concussion issues with the blackhole of injury reporting?

If healthy I agree. If the concussion issues are worse than reported then the Penguins might be stuck with him on LTIR.

I think he'll be okay, he just needs time to heal. I know with the Sid situation, and the lawsuits and CTE stuff, that concussions are like the boogeyman. But it's quite often that athletes are capable of coming back and leading healthy careers. Now, I'm sure if trade stuff happens this offseason, even if healthy, questions will abound from other teams, and it may even hurt his value a bit, but there are still enough teams out there in need of a goalie that would take the risk.

Being fair (because I held that opinion) Murray was pretty much wholly unproven at that point. Even now we're dealing with SSS, but Murray is mechanically sound and so calm in there as a 21 year that I'm sold.

Just a set back, it's not atypical. Now, I wouldn't expect him back for weeks, but I don't think it's career ending variety. They'll probably get him in to see Collins and do vestibular rehab stuff, similar to what they did with Sid.

Not to rain on your excitement, but he's also unknown to most goalie coaches. There is no book on him yet. He looks poised, but he has a tendency to over-react IMO. His D covers him, but I've seen him flub.

Time will tell if he gets solved. A few years ago, Antti Niemi looked unbeatable.
