I like Cooks. Maybe at #32 depending on what NE does with their own FAs. NE has other needs which makes this a difficult decision. If the Pats are even thinking 32 for Cooks, BB must really see something he likes in him. Or he knows what the roster is going to look like after 9 March.they're trying to give the Saints their first round pick but the Saints looking for something mid 1st round

If you put a gun to my head and I have to decide right now pre-FA and draft I give up 32.

That's typical BB mumble. Praises even Rob Ryan, hahaha. No doubt though BB saw something. Kind of like he does on grabbing defensive players that fit a certain role. Good story about his determination to get better surrounding himself with quality players to learn from. #32 no more. Lots of FA WRs available and a good crop of WRs in the draft.
Oh I understand. But who knows what's rumor and posturing and what's real? I stand by #32 if no one else offers the mid rounder they want? I don't see it as a need as I already mentioned lots of other options. Can Cooks void a trade if he doesn't like the team? The issue for the Pats is the Saints are discussing deals with other teams who can give us a higher pick
Interesting. The middle of the season I asked about trading for Willie Snead. The Saints have 3 solid receivers.
Which surprises me. I knew Thomas was giving Snead comp. Brees would be left with a situation Brady is always in which is good receivers but no one that go deep consistently.I think Michael Thomas is our best. I would miss Cooks because it is always important to have a speed WR such as Cooks.
It would be interesting to see how NE would use him. Apparently he's not happy being just the own field guy. NE has enough slot guys. If NE did sign Cooks that would mean the end to Amendola. The Pats need an over the top guy? (Floyd/Mitchell)?I think Michael Thomas is our best. I would miss Cooks because it is always important to have a speed WR such as Cooks.
Saints gave up a 1st and late 3rd to get him. I can understand them wanting more considering the production Cooks has displayed. But just how much more? Reports are a mid 1st plus a couple other picks. A WR needy team may give that up. The one thing against NO in all of this is that teams know Cooks wants out. I believe he only has two years remaining so he'll be testing the market again next season. Because in 19 he'd definitely test FAif things stay the way they are and NO will get nothing for him.The issue for the Pats is the Saints are discussing deals with other teams who can give us a higher pick
