The Patriots search for offensive line depth continued Tuesday.

After signing guard Tyrese Robinson off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, the Patriots are subsequently releasing offensive lineman Zachary Thomas. The Boston Herald was the first to report the news.

Patriots signed LB Yannick Ngakoue, formerly of the Ravens.
The Ravens released Ngakoue yesterday, prompting the 2-7 Patriots to unexpectedly bolster their thinned-out pass rush. Ngakoue can hardly be projected for a robust snap count but he should chip in from time to time. His signing does not move the needle on the Patriots’ D/ST unit for fantasy purposes. The team released LB Raekwon McMillan in a corresponding move.

Tryouts for a safety and an O Lineman.
6'8" @ 353, he's a big boy, but is he athletic, and is he smart?

Sorry, can't get excited about the OL. He's been cut 2x already and it's not like we have Scar anymore to coach him up. I hope I'm wrong if he makes the squad. Now, the DB sounds like he could have potential.

That's kinda my point.
Big he is.
Athletic but not smart means he can be decent with a lot of coaching and practice.
Smart can make up for lack of athleticism.

Big, but dumb and slow = cut.

Per Patriots Wire 11/20/2024

The New England Patriots announced they have signed linebacker Titus Leo off the Indianapolis Colts practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Leo is a former sixth-round draft pick and FCS All-American out of Wagner College. The signing came along with the news that the Patriots are placing linebacker Curtis Jacobs on injured reserve, while also releasing Ochaun Mathis on Tuesday.

Jacobs, who was claimed off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, had been a steady contributor in New England, appearing on four percent of the defensive snaps and 58 percent of the special teams snaps. He has played in nine games and started in two of those outings this season.

Mathis only appeared in five games with the bulk of his workload coming on special teams for the Patriots. Meanwhile, Leo has yet to get his first real taste of NFL action.

Perhaps that’ll finally change for a Patriots team looking to add some depth.

Maybe he can contribute on STs? Not like they can't use the help.
