Well as long as we are clear that the Pac isn't the best.

Well as long as we are clear that we leave the SEC to caring about conferences over our own individual teams.

Let me know when you figure out that you care about the conference only because of the impact it has on your individual team. Because in reality you actually hate most of those teams, but the strength they provide in general is good for your team. Which should be common knowledge really.

I pulled for VT to win every game last year after the first one, and it sure wasn't because they were SEC, and it sure isn't because I just like VT. I pulled for them to win every game last year after they lost to Alabama because of what it meant for Alabama in terms of projected strength etc.

The benefits of the strength was made apparent in 2011.

Looks like there are plenty of Pac fans posting in a thread that claims the Pac is better

Was it baiting when the article was posted in the Pac12 thread?

Given we actually have a drinking game just for you and you are a regular contributor there are you saying that isn't possible?

Again, pointing out what people write is not the same as owning it or championing it. You don't think they knew it was a shit storm waiting to happen? Nothing riles up team SEC more than anyone chipping away at their conference status. Almost as sure fire way to rile up a base as talking about 7 sark to trojan fans.... Almost.

btw, if I take up the position that the power 5 conferences are better than the other conferences in college football, and some people are silly enough to try and debate otherwise, does it make me a member of "Team Power 5" if I defend against it?

That post wasn't for me, that is for sure. I quit posting in the Pac12 thread for the most part as well.

Honestly, Team Pac12 is the strongest on these forums and I guess nobody from Team SEC really cares if you get riled up or not. :noidea:

The Pac will look a lot better if USC ever gets "back". Oregon has proven to be a poor substitue

As a Derroit Lions fan I can say this with complete confidence, Stafford sucks only a little bit less than Harrington. Both of them are completely shitty quarterbacks but Suckford has the benefit of one of the greatest wide receivers since Jerry Rice to throw to.

My opinion but its hard for schools without in-state talent to really grow into National Powers. Nebraska was able to in the 90's and Oklahoma has done it recently, but even with great facilities and all its just hard to get enough to fill a 2 or 3 deep that's required for National Power.

I know what the score board was, but you said Oregon hasn't been challenged by Big 12 teams. GMAFB, don't go all OD all of a sudden. Pac 12 isn't as great as you think it is. Like I said, it's pretty much Pac, Big 12 and SEC then a drop off from there. Weren't you Oregon fans claiming when LSU raped you guys it wasn't that bad b/c Oregon's offense rolled over 400 yds? Calm down, guy.....

Oregon vs Texas, Oregon vs Kansas State, Oregon vs Oklahoma State Mamaba has a point the last few games of Oregon vs Big 12 Oregon has not really been challenged.

You know why he uses a % for the OOC stat? Because if he used actual numbers people would laugh.

How about the Pac12 actually win a National Championship before they claim they are the best conference? Or has Team Pac12 taken on the Georgia reigns with Preseason Championships?

Having the best team(NC) doesnt make the conference as a whole the best.

Guess we will see. It seems though that the PAC12 always puts out a team that can be outmatched.

Oregon has trouble against teams with a strong front 7 and a stout run game. They beat pass heavy teams (most of the PAC12) with ease.

Recent losses: Stanford, Arizona, LSU, USC, Auburn, Boise State

Stanford is the same way. They struggle against teams with equal/greater talent, a strong front 7, and a stout run game. They beat spread teams almost always at ease.

Recent losses: Oregon, Oklahoma State, USC, Notre Dame, Utah, Michigan State

The SEC remains the best until another conference can prove otherwise.

That's why I'm thankful football season starts in less than a week, so we can get to proving shit on the gridiron.

SEC going 0-2 in BCS bowls was a bit of your proven otherwise. Still SEC is probably the strongest conference but Stoops being able to back up his talk about the SEC being over-hyped went a long way to proving conference parity among the power 5.
