Over - Lou said signing Parise is the top priority this off-season so he'll be signed 7 days before the arbitration hearing rather than 1.

I'll go over, however I think it will be smoother than most people would think. The only positive to losing him as an RFA is the compensation for him would be pretty steep for the other team. If somebody throws him a monster deal in the $7 million range they'd have to give up 4 1st round picks. I'll take Parise over 4 1st rounders any day but, those are still very valuable.

Didn't they change the compensation this year? I thought I read something to that effect a week or so ago.

if he goes to arbitration, aren't offer sheets off the table as an option?? thought I read Lou was going to let it go to arbitration because nobody can put an offer sheet in and they would work on a long term deal. Waiting for sale for minority ownership before anything was done long term with Zach, but they are working with agents already.

I truly believe that the only way zach leaves is if he WANTS to leave, but I srill don't think this negotiation comes easy

Oh, I agree, but I think in the end, he's a Devil wearing the C for the next 7-10 years with this contract.

i agree with the above poster....the only POSITIVE about him being signed as a RFA is that we are a gurantee of getting something in return. unlike nieds/rafalski/gomez/gionta yeah i want parise at all costs i'm just saying its nice to get something!
