Pretty easy to pick out all the missed calls when you're looking for them.

Problem is, too many people spend too much time looking for them... but generally only one way.

People who question whiners whining about whining whiners is definitely worse.

I just thought Biz's comment were a little out of line. I found them to be condescending and disrespectful to a number of Caps' fans here who are (1) not whiners and (2) very knowledgeable about the sport. Fans who watched every minute of this series. Fans who have shown they are big home fans, but capable of being objective as well.

In short, I thought Biz' post was poopy.

Sure, there were definitely about 3-4 obvious calls missed on the Caps during the series, but that pales in comparison to the dozen missed on the Rags. There is a legit complaint here. I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories, but I'm fairly sure incompetence exists.

There's no question bad officiating can contribute to a loss. But in a 7-game series, if you think it's the primary reason, well, you probably didn't do enough right in the other facets.

Penalties or not, the Caps couldn't score at even-strength down the stretch. That should be the fans' major gripe.

Yeah I find its much better to blame the refs after a sweep or a 5 game series.

My only problem with the whole situation is that Ovechkin can't be saying that kinda shit about how the league is out to get his team when he can't even put in the work himself. If Holtby had said it, I'd be receptive. Two points and he's part of the most embarrassing goal against in the playoffs? Ovechkin should shut his mouth, you know?

I'll have to check that out jstew. That's interesting but unfortunately not surprising.

Edit: Quick look, game 1 Ott at Mon the last pen was 05:52 Gonchar, 2 min, Cross Check and 05:52 Prust, 2 min, Diving. That was the last penalty of the third period with the Sens ahead 3-2. They scored 32 sec before these penalties were called.
