Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor
Height: 6-3. Weight: 230.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Projected Round (2015): 4-6.

11/22/14: WalterFootball.com knows that multiple NFL teams view Petty as a third-day prospect despite the hype from some draft pundits.

The view of league contacts has been justified by Petty's performance in 2014. His accuracy has been bad as he missed a lot of wide-open receivers that any NFL quarterback has to connect with.

Petty has completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,421 yards with 21 touchdowns and three interceptions. He has three rushing touchdowns. Petty needs to show improvement in his pocket passing and accuracy.

8/27/14: 2013 was an impressive debut season for Petty as Baylor's starting quarterback. The dual-threat quarterback could definitely improve as a pocket passer now that he has gained a year of experience. Petty completed 62 percent of his passes last year for 4,200 yards with 32 touchdowns and three interceptions. He ran for 339 yards and 14 touchdowns as well. Petty backed up Robert Griffin III and Nick Florence for three seasons.

Personal: Son of Todd and Dena Petty. Graduated in May of 2013 with a degree in health science studies.

Walter football is not a very good site. They have a lot of information, and lists many prospects, but don't put a lot of stock into their site. Besides, why do you care about the Eagles QB situation, or do you think this is the year the Steelers start to look for a replacement for Big Ben?

Not that big on Petty personally, especially not in round one.

I wonder that like a lot of guys from these spread offenses he will struggle to make more than one read, he doesn't look great under pressure either. He's got some tools, but he's a project at best right now for me. I'd rather get immediate dividends in round 1.

Any team that blows a high pick on Winston is going to regret it. That kid is going to take his first NFL paycheck, buy himself a status car and wrap it around a tree. Dumb as a fucking rock!!!

This offense does not require a superstar QB. I'd be happy picking a really athletic kid from a non-high-profile school and letting Chip coach him up. Let Foles/Sanchez take it another year while we concentrate on the defense.

Right now he is considered a 3rd rd pick....so that is where ya have to figure he goes. However, Qb's are known to shoot way up draft boards when the draft gets close.

Me personally I still feel we need to address our Defensive weakness's first. We can and have been winning with Foles/Sanchez.....we need to get that Defense better.

Absolutely agree, another LB and all kinds of secondary help are what we really need. A S, 2 CBs, and an ILB, are must haves.

We need a CB in the 1st then a QB (if Chip needs one) and a S. We'll be ok without another CB if we can land a stud CB and S.

yeah you nailed it WIZ (if Chip needs one) because we may be just fine with what we have....especially if we build that defense.

Then keep your eyes on:
Trae Wayns, CB, Mick.St., and
Adrian Amos, S, PSU

Get Wayns in the 1st;
Petty in the 2nd;
Amos in the 3rd.
We still will need a big, speedy WR; OT; G; ILB.
Hopefully we get some of these in Free Agency.

Fellas, without a QB, we are pissing in the wind. QBs get you there, defense wins it. But we wont be more than a 11 win early exit playoff team without a decent QB.

Imo

QB
CB
SS
CB
ILB
RG

PIG 350 Lbs wall of a DT

In that order are our needs imo.

Isn't Beau Allen the PIG in the middle? How many hogs do you need? That's far from a big need IMO.

Yeah, it is pretty obvious that the biggest need is corner. Bradley Fletcher and Cary Williams both have to be replaced, but Fletcher needs to be replaced first.

I suspect they stick with Foles one more year and take some defensive secondary players high in the draft.

They can draft a qb next year but only if they tear down how team. Turning this team over to a rookie qb means a few years of growing pains. Similar to what Foles went through earlier in the year. By the time that qb is ready the likes of Jason Peters McCoy Maclin Mathis will all be ready for aarp coverage. In other words the window with this group has one maybe two years left. Sure up the defensive secondary, get another linebacker or two and a right guard in the offseason. Chip, needs to review his 2013 game calling and get back to that. The innovative calls haven't been there all year. Straightened that out and next year is the year.

I don't think Chip is the problem with the Offense ... guys last night were "college" style open. Sanchez was missing them or not seeing them all night long. No playbook can remedy that.

Exactly....the game was there for the taking but the players did not execute.
