USA already denying the reports. But it makes sense that they would be first on the list if they have to quickly change locations. We have the most World Cup ready stadiums and infrastructure and it would be almost 30 years since we lasted hosted the World Cup

I would have ZERO problem with the USA getting it. They would put on a helluva show and get a great audience including alot from Canada I think. I may even try to make a trip out there if it was close enough. No stadiums need to be built whatsoever. It would be perfect

There was talk of a joint usa/canada world cup bid a few months back

The only way this happens is if mls throws their support behind it which is doubtful as long as don garber is around

Sucks that I was only 4 years old for the 1994 World Cup when they played games in Detroit at the silver dome. Practically in my backyard. Doubt Detroit would get any games this time around

Doubt it happens. Don't forget how many times FIFA hinted that 2010 would go back to Germany if South Africa didn't get their shit together.

I think they'd actually be more likely to move it to somewhere in Europe anyhow even though they'd be ineligible under normal circumstances until the 2030 tournament (because Russia is hosting 2018). I don't think they'd want to return to the US under those circumstances when they could go to England, Germany, or Spain/Portugal (who finished 2nd with a joint bit for 2018) with little to no work needed.

I think you'll see the US as the front runner for 2026.
