so i've taken to reading at work cause i hate this place.. its significantly mroe than 10 words per page.. its actually quite a nice way to read a book haha

I don't mind it too much because you could always catch a chapter or two if you have 10-15 minutes to kill and it always within reach.

I've read all the books on kindle (probably killing my 20/20 vision in the process) but setting it to the tan background makes it a lil easier on the eyes.

almost done with the first book... man, the books really are great and more in depth. I should be on the second book before Sunday like I had wanted.

Without spoiling too much, I felt the books got better and the pace quicken the more I read.

I did the same thing as you are trying to do. Read the first book and watch the series almost at the same time. I couldn't stop and read the whole thing after book 1.

Random fact: he author Martin, is a big NY giants fan and makes a subtle reference to this in the book. I didn't catch it the first time but when I found out, I thought it was pretty cool.

Good news. Season 3 has already been signed. I was wrong about the pace of the show. Season 3 will only cover approximately the first half of the third book. I think that's pretty smart, and I'm sure they'll go over and over that so I won't get into details. Anyway. Kickass!

The Imp is the man. 2 weeks now with no Robb and Jaime, very little Jon Snow, no Khaleesi. I like Renly's girl. The Lord Baelish/Lady Stark storyline could get very interesting.

That episode was fucked up. Watching Joffrey gave me shivers. And they are definitely starting to bring in the fantasy elements. Personally, I can't wait to see the Khaleesi fuck some shit up with her dragons.

It would be messed up if they didn't, it's a big part of the story. That should be fun to watch

it looks like they are deviating from the book in some ways, i won't go into specifics. now personally, i don't have a problem with it and consider it a necessary process of adaptation. i actually heard an interesting perspective somewhere, a book reader wrote that the deviation from the books actually makes it more interesting, since we really are not sure exactly what is going to come next.

so just be aware when you get to certain parts of the book.


i really like what they have been doing. i'm pretty sure that most people who hadn't read the books really didn't think much of mel, maybe thinking she's just a trussed up whore in red, but that was pretty spectacular.


i will have to watch it again. i have been trying to watch every episode at least twice this year, and i think it has really been a good decision. pick up so much on the second viewing when you're not just trying to keep up.
