The Bengals should trade their 2 1st round picks in 2012 and their 2nd rounder in 2013 for Luck. Dalton can sit and rot.

Andrew Luck would not play here for twice the money Brown was offering Palmer.

so, it doesn't matter.

Your going to root for Andy Dalton, and your going to like it young man!!!

He's just pissed because Dalton is doing well and the Bengals are winning. He doesn't know how to handle this.

C'mon Kramer, how can you not like Dalton? First of all he's good. Secondly he's like the easiest guy to root for ever. Smart, tough, natural leader and doesnt seem like he's got his head totally up his ass. I didnt want them to draft him but he's converted me. I'm a Dalton fan. If I bought or wore jerseys I'd have no issue rocking a 14. Plus, I dont think there would be enough picks to spring Luck from whomever 'earns' the #1 overall pick. Is it not totally obvious that Indy and Miami are basically throwing the season by keeping their borderline retarted head coaches (who both seem to have totally lost their lockerrooms) in tow?

You know you suck when your All Pro Center Jeff Saturday says the team was out-coached. He might be one of the nicest guys in the league.

I would give up all 3 of our first round picks the next 2 years for Luck. I would also give up the Raiders 2013 pick which could potentially become a 1st.

I wouldn't. I'd use those picks on the O-line and adding depth at LB and safety. Luck can't win a game with junk at the other positions.

Caldwell consistently has that look like he was trying to fart silently but accidently got more than he bargained for. He always looks like he's carrying a load around in his pants.

I think Luck is so coveted that there is no amount that could spring him. He's a franchise QB before taking a snap as you'd have to trade your whole franchise to aquire the rights to him. I think he's already one of those guys like Rodgers or Brady that is untouchable via trade before playing a down.

Agreed.

But I can dream. Just imagine Luck in this offense (scheme, receivers, et. al) with this defense.

Putting all the eggs in one basket worked for Indy, sort of.

Not sure it would work for us, we're the Bengals.

I'd rather have an awesome all around team than one guy carrying the load for everyone else. We sorta had that with super-palmer before and the drop from Palmer to Kitna killed us despite the over all talent on the team at the time.

Luck is phenomenal but Dalton is no slouch. He's fits perfectly in Gruden's offense. More than anything I'm a fan of his intangibles. This franchise desperately needed the leadership which he brings.

Which is my point. We have a really good QB, and can use those picks to surround him with a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Or we could have a potentially great QB with no picks to improve the rest of the team. I'd rather have Dalton and a better supporting cast.

I want a great QB, at any cost. "Really good" won't win you a SB in this league, imo.

Nope. Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer didn't win rings.

Just saying, but Trent Dilfer was a 1st round pick. Sixth overall. At one point in time he was viewed as a can't miss prospect!

Nope. Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer didn't win rings.

So that gives us a .00005% chance?

Despite that, I also qualified it with "this league". The NFL back then was different. Now with the emphasis on the pass, even more weight has been put on the QB, so it's even less likely a Dilfer or Johnson could win it.

I think throwing an entire future for one guy is absurd. Luck hasn't played a single NFL down yet. Peyton Manning was as much of a can't miss guy as anybody and nobody traded 6 top draft picks for him.

Dalton is doing much better than anticipated.

don't mess with it.

Luck is not a guaranteed super-bowl winner. There are no guarantees.

Eli Manning is great? Really?

I think Eli was great for about 4 weeks. he caught fire at the right time. Which brings up the point that if you have a QB that is just below that Brady, Rodgers, Brees threshold (i.e. Dalton) and you can get into the playoffs anything is possible. Last year Flacco and the Ravens beat Brady in Foxboro. In previous years Rex friggin Grossman (shalom) took the bears to the SB. Steve McNair (good, by no means great) to use my grandfathers expression came within a **** hair of a SB title.
