I think we now have a lot of flexibility. Harris and Horford can share the 4 spot. When Embiid is out of the lineup, Horford moves to 5. At the SF position we have either Harris, Richardson or Thybulle. At SG we can play JRich, Zhaire Smith or Thybulle.

Have you guys all seen the Jimmy Butler Game of Zones short episode? I would link it but not sure if that's allowed here. Just google it and have a couple of laughs.

I think Horford is going to be a lot more important to this team than people realize. The Sixers really want to manage Embiid's minutes moving forward to preserve his body. Having Horford in tow allows the Sixers the ability to do just that on top of having a guy who can also play the 4 depending on match-ups. Al's game is pick and pop, screens, high IQ, Passing, Defense and leadership ... his game is not athletic-dependent, so the fact that he's 33 doesn't change much in his play. His importance to the team will likely not be reflected in his stats, but rather in his assistance to Embiid.

On Offense I think Josh Richardson is ready to take the next step. His scoring has improved every single year in the league and he's heading into his prime years of 26-30 (turns 26 in September). Zhaire Smith seems to be a forgotten man, but word is his outside shot has greatly improved and he's ready to contribute this year.

Very encouraged by what I've seen from Matisse Thybulle in the Summer League. His Defensive anticipation is as good as advertised and his 3 stroke has been good. He also slashes better than I thought and should fair well playing with Simmons. Zhaire Smith has been solid as well ... both he and Matisse should be contributors off the jump this season, but Thybulle imo has the higher upside from what I've seen so far.

Thybulle needs to improve his handle, but I agree that he has shown 3 and D abilities. He looks like he could be our new Robert Covington, with possibly more upside.

as far as summer league goes, fine enough performances from both. neither are afraid to shoot it from 3. Zhaire's shot still looks a bit awkward, but if it works, go with it, i guess. Thybulle is going to have to learn to curb his gambling on defense. also needs to work on those handles (though hopefully just hit set shots). he really is like covington in that regard.

shake was disappointing, but nice to see he never lost confidence in the shot. marial showed he has no problem knocking down 3's. Keep seeing the sixers should bring in Korver, but I'm not too worried about a lack of shooting on this team. would rather Iguodala if either were options.

Thybulle's handle is actually better than I expected. Yes, he needs to improve on it, but it's not horrible.

He's not Pistol Pete Maravich, but his handle is good enough to drive to the cup here and there (seen it on multiple occasions in these games), plus finish on the break. Again, his handle isn't a strength, so he will turn it over here and there ... but he likely won't be asked to handle anywhere near what a Jimmy Butler was asked to do.

So far so good for the Sixers after 2 games ... Horford looks like a great addition.

No doubt for one year.

Danny didn't want to pay for years 3 and 4.

Which is fine for both sides.

I hope that we find a 40% three point shooter, as we will need something close to that by the end of the regular season, I think.

Nah. Once they find their legs, they will start trending towards league average in 3 point shooting.

Career 3P Shooting :
Richardson 36.6%
Harris 36.4%
Scott 36.5%
Horford 36.6%
Ennis 35.6%

Heck, Neto has a career 37.7% mark.

So long as they are getting open looks, the numbers will regress to their career averages and probably higher.

Embiid's all about having a good time ... even in a scuffle. Ben got the submission rear naked choke though ...
