it came out last week that $185 million dollars was wagered internationally on Canadian Soccer league games

Im a big soccer fan ... I cant name a team or player in the Canadian soccer league

According to CSA and CONCACAF sources, Interpol told those in attendance that nearly $100 million had passed through legitimate betting houses, to be placed on Canadian Soccer League matches, the past three seasons. They held the CSL up as an example of how even little out-of-the-way leagues were being targeted in a major way.

many canadians dont either

its an Ontario / Quebec based league ... very semi -pro ... maybe the equivalent of 4th division in england ... guys dont get paid much ... have full time jobs ... prime elements for fixers

italy would be a better place without Berlusconi and his clan ... theyre the kings of crooked first world politics so I can never defend them but at the same time I went and watched the video to see the cultural context/actual word that was used and this part of the story summed it up pretty good

the word they used doesnt have the overtly negative racist connotation to it ... from our north american perspective it definitely does ... especially when combined with the concept of "boy" and "little"

I saw the guardian in the UK translated it as "ni**er house boy" ... a bit much
