way way back in the day, I was on a road trip with a couple of girls i worked with.
One of them had a mixed tape for the trip (tells you how long ago it was) - about 4 times on the tape, I said "damn, this is good - who is it?".

was always Dishwalla. first two albums were great.

Very underrated album. Good from start to finish IMO
thats the only song I know, but whenever I hear it I usually listen to the end.

I liked the original, not sure about this but I like the same person playing all the major parts.

Nada Surf’s version is much better.

This version is on the American Underdog soundtrack. They couldn’t get Kurt Warner to make a cameo in the video playing the quarterback though.

I just read the Pom Pom Squad cameos in the movie as the Iowa Barnstormers cheerleading squad, medical team, and PA announcers. Dozens of people will be excited to see them in the movie.

Unbelievable, he reminds me of the kind of guy who would search his name on Twitter to argue with people who don’t like him.

on this day 21 years ago, Kirstey MacColl was killed while saving her son from a speeding motor boat

Frank Sinatra had said that this was one of his favourite songs, and he even covered it at his concerts occasionally
(pretty stupid music video though)

Nick Gilder is 70 years old today - Born in London, England, but raised in Vancouver. Roxy Roller was a big hit for Sweeney Todd that featured both Nick and a very young Bryan Adams. I always liked this tune as well.

combo "Old Guy Radio" and "On this Day"

1967, Led Zeppelin started their first North American tour, opening up for Vanilla Fudge
I would imagine Vanilla Fudge collectively shit themselves when they saw what they had to follow.

still, good tune:
