Awful video quality but such a great tune.

Here's one for @Comeds - I came across this version of the Hall and Oates classic (I guess Cee Lo is replacing Oates), but I certainly enjoy this funked up take.

Old Guy Radio pulls this little ditty from Tommy James after he and the Shondells went their separate ways in 1970.

been obsessed with these guys lately. Couple of Good Canadian Kids outa Cobourn Ontario.
first album came out last week, and it slaps.

great imagery in lyrics

Short cut to a quick buck is working all the time
Renting out your mind, And saving every dime
Because when ten of those combine They cross a sacred line
And go from pocket change To a gold mine

That was good.

Today I learned Cameron Crowe asked for them to write a song to use in his 1989 movie Say Anything and this is what they came up with. Crowe turned the song down because he felt the lyrics basically spelled out the relationship in the movie. I bought this cassette when it was released and listened to it more times than I could count and have seen the movie about 10 times and I never made the connection lol

hugging the Rickenbacker in that video doesn't quite have the same effect as Susanna.
But it does remind me of her, which is always nice

Old Guy Radio today features this live performance from 'The Midnight Special' courtesy of Elvin Bishop - Although just for clarity, it's not Elvin Bishop on lead vocals, it's backup singer Mickey Thomas as Elvin didn't think his voice would do this song justice. Elvin is playing some sweet guitar during the instrumental break. Besides, who doesn't like a lead singer who looks like he works at a quickie oil and lube establishment :D

There’s a lot going on there. Basketball jersey wearing drummer, a sheriffs badge, a 10 gallon hat, the pseudo looking track suit that reminded me of the old Rockies logo and the short sleeved one piece Canadian tuxedo.

/the midnight special was awesome.

and I'm going to need some convincing that the singer isn't in fact Burton Cummings.

lol - On my next birthday (later this year), my age will match the number of variety of tomatoes that Heinz uses in its ketchup.
Got 7 on me, which isn't much but it can be a big difference in music, TV, and pop culture we grew up with. You probably never even enjoyed Smurfette.

(
who italicized enjoyed? Makes me seem creepy, not cool!)
