I have a terrible feeling these two things are related somehow.I already miss AA, BBB
Fucking eventful first day of spring training for the Jays. First Bautista goes off on some BS about hometown discounts and not negotiating, and now it looks like the Jays are going to trade for Jay Bruce for some ungodly reason.
That's nothing compared to the curses Lou put on Seattle, TB and Chicago.would be great to have mlb in vancouver but Lou Piniella put a curse on us when edgar martinex tore his hamstring back in the 90's at BC Place so it will never happen
Montreal's a possibility. I don't think MLB would ever consider 3 teams in Canada, though. Jays would probably be against a team in Vancouver too which wouldn't help matters.
Television-wise? Yes, at the moment they do.lol they have territorial rights to an area over 4000 kms away?
I think the mariners would have more of a problem and mlb will prob listen more to their concerns

Geographically, obviously the M's are closer and would likely fight it. But the point isn't territory or Canadian TV rights, it's that MLB owners would have to vote on any relocation or expansion and there are a litany of arguments the Jays (and M's) could make that would persuade them against a Vancouver team, chief among them being splitting US TV revenue with a third team (and just assuming they're third here because I think Montreal would be the overarching fave to get a team over Vancouver) in a country that doesn't produce TV ratings south of the border.
Is there a team in the States that broadcasts all 162 games nationally?lol what the does the bold really mean or even matter? the jays have a national broadcasting rights deal with Sportsnet ... they dont own any rights to the vancouver market a... and im not even arguing that baseball is coming to vancouver ... wont happen lol ... I just dont think theyll care at all about rogers/jays comcerns

TV ratings cross-country matter incredibly to Rogers and SN. Why wouldn't they fight tooth and nail to keep that monopoly?
