Is this the baseball thread? 0-0 game going into the 14th inning and after the inning is done it's 5-5? M's down to the last strike and a game tying grand slam.

The White Sox/Mariners game may be the game of the year so far. First time an extra inning game has had both teams score 5 in the same extra inning in almost 100 years. First time ever a 0-0 game after nine innings had both teams score at least 5 each in extra innings.

I goaltended again this week at the weekly street hockey pickup game near my house. My knee was bugging me a little from chasing a cat earlier this week onto the top of my kitchen cabinets, and my lateral quickness suffered, but most of the goals I gave up were in odd-man rush situations (breakaways, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, you get the picture--I even stopped one of the 2-0s), so I guess I'm pretty pleased with my performance.

But the highlight of my night was basically making this save:


The play actually almost unraveled that exact same way.

Wow - quite the debut from Gerritt Cole tonight. 2 runs given up in 6 1/3 and added 2 RBIs at the plate.

The last 2 years I thought the Pirates were pretenders, and they did indeed fade late. I think they are legit this year and think they'll end up in the wild card spot. They aren't even hitting as well as they can and they are winning. That's a good sign.
