Cardinal fans have no idea how to handle the scrutiny of the public eye either, and it's evident in their replies to all these things. They have lived in a bubble of "aww, shucks" for years, while the fanbases of teams like the Yankees have had years of just living with it. If someone rags on a Yankee fan, they just smirk and all is well, they live with it daily. Cards fans have had the idea of being down-home, golden hearted people who just deserve winning thrust upon them for so long by the assorted media that this turn of events crushes their soul. Again: I know great people who are Cards fans, but good lord, disucssing the Cards in any form of negativity changes them.
