Nobody is going to change anybody's opinion. We'll all still have the same positions we had when this debate started. Im a conservative who believes in small government, free market solutions, and supply side economics. I believe in a strong private sector and personal responsibility. That's not going to change. Those of you who prefer the principles of the left wing are surely as dedicated to your principles, and no amount of debate is going to budge you. I can't pretend to understand your ideals and principles but you certainly have a right to them, no more or less than I have a right to mine. So let's just agree to disagree and move on to matters this forum was meant to discuss, our hopeless yet lovable Bengals.

Hmmm.... Do these same principles apply to opinions about Carson Palmer or Andy Dalton?

No. I was once a Dalton supporter, but evidence against him continued to pile up, and changed my stance. No amount of evidence to the contrary can change a person's political principles. If it could, then you would be conservative---LOL.

Negative...... I spent much of my life as a 'conservative.' Then they became fucking crazy, obsessed with pleasing the religious right, and run by old crazy people that don't understand science.

Politics is depressing.... Much like the Cincinnati sports scene.

You misused the word "conservative" when what you really meant was "Republican". You can be conservative and not be a Republican. I want a real free market, smaller federal government, and more powers handed over to the states. I couldn't give a damn less about most of the rest of it. I would be considered conservative, but I am not a Republican.

This....is exactly how I feel....I don't consider myself a Republican either, but a conservative.....

Fine then.... But it's problematic that you 'conservatives' have your hands tied by all of these 'Republicans' that basically act like idiots.

I've heard a lot of that..."I'm a conservative, not a republican" lately

Everyone is guilty. For every finger one side points, another finger can be directed back to them.

It's out of control. No matter who's "side" you might be on...they are both equally adept at flushing the gov't down the toilet.

I feel like I have no party. I just want the government run by people with conservative economic values who don't want to mess with your personal lives. I'm willing to pay my taxes, but don't want them to be given to people who are irresponsible and can but refuse to take care of themselves. Is that so much to ask? Democrat economic ideas are nutty, and the Republican party is whacky with its allegiance to the religious zealots. If forced to make a decision, I'll side with logical economic principles, though reluctantly. I wish I had a better choice, but as long as half the people are getting money from the government, I'm stuck.

There isn't enough regulation. People are greedy and cannot be trusted.
