I remember the movie "the day after" scared the shit out of me as a kid ... thank god I didnt see Threads back then

terrified me as a kid. I wonder what it would be like now?

mind you after watching both trailers again I cant remember which one I watched. or maybe both .. as they look similar. I remember in one of them they were eating rats.

in Threads they ate a sheep they found dead from fallout on a farm. just ripped it open and started eating. It also had a scene with a mangy cat that looked like it was killed for the movie ... turns out they gave it catnip, filmed it and then put it in the movie in rewind lol

you would think that premise would be almost pure profit.
have a host, have a band, call it a day.

i mean, he did a lot of outside things like carpool karaoke and stopping traffic to put on plays in traffic...

I was thinking about it last night. The first one was such a classic that I worry for this tarnishing that one (see Blues Brothers 2000 that never happend BTW)

I have.

It's exactly as you expect: some of the segments are really great and just ooze classic Mel Brooks. Others are...not so great.

I'd say it's worth watching, but you can safely assume you'll enjoy about 50%, be indifferent towards 25%, and wonder how much is left for another 25%.
