I mean, the horrible is what makes it fun now.

I've watched that movie 50 times and still laugh every time.

This kids parents are great, much better than my mother. Sure, she hooked me up with Miss Agnes, who in our post coital cuddling told me about life before, during, and after prohibition, but nothing like this. I still miss Miss Agnes though.

have started watching Reginald the Vampire.
terrible dialogue and acting, but very fun.
as soon as i started watching it, said to the wife "this sure looks like it was filmed in Canada" as the production values are very CBC.
sure enough, filmed in Victoria.

but still, we are enjoying it

Gaslit on Starz was really good. Nice dark comedy about Watergate.

John Wick 4 was pretty great if you like those movies. The whole thing was good but the last hour or so was great. Creative set pieces.

Has anyone seen Perpetual Grace LTD? It was on Epix. A friend of mine really liked it so I got MGM+ for a week and watched. It's really good, and really odd. The only reason I wouldn't fully recommend it is because it was only one season and ended on a cliffhanger.

So I need to vent a bit and I'm sure I'm missing something so hopefully people can enlighten me, I'm just getting around to Succession, halfway through season 3 and I just don't understand why everyone treats this like it is anywhere near the Mount Rushmore of prestige TV.

It's a good show, I enjoy it but at the same time it's a glorified Real Housewives. None of the characters are likeable, ok they're not supposed to be that's fine. They cut so many corners with character development. Example, repeatedly hammering us over the head with Logan is the smartest man on the planet, he's always 5 steps ahead of everyone and yet they don't seem to display this in any meaningful way. Tywin, Cersei, Little finger in Game of Thrones you consistently get examples of them being on another level of intelligence, I don't get that at all here.

Jeremy Strong... Wtf am I missing here? He won best actor and everyone raves about his performance but he's one of the least charismatic lead actors I can recall. I get his character is a doltish man child and he plays that aspect well but any time he rises up and challenges, has to rally allies etc he absolutely cannot pull it off. He's so stiff, I don't get it.

I feel like most of the episodes are a variation of the same thing, they're in a room, all the same characters just bantering, talking about lawyers, shareholders, etc etc. The most interesting episodes tend to be when they're out of the office (the wedding, the yacht etc).

The characters that are most intriguing are the peripheral characters, Tom and Greg. Everyone else is so one note and predictable with no clear drive or motives.

I don't know, I like it, I continue to watch but I come away feeling really underwhelmed when comparing it to the race reviews and to other all time TV.
