Toronto realtor apologizes after offensive billboard is removed from busy intersection

An Etobicoke billboard showing two real estate agents doing karate chops with the crossed-out term “COVID” has been removed after numerous people called the advertisement racially tone deaf.

Real estate ads are offensive to me in general because they are usually crap but I'm not really getting the offensive part here. It's confusing - why is Covid written at all let alone crossed out? Did real estate cure Covid? - but calling a font, posing in a "martial arts" stance, and some really cheap shoes racist is a bit much.
