Stance: Goofy
Yeah, the days of the cheap Vegas buffet are long gone, at least on the new strip.
Went to a tapas place in one of the casinos a couple years back. We asked the waitress to pick the last thing for us because we figured we were one short. She comes back with four mini-burgers (sliders would be generous, they were about the size of a watch face) that were something like $12 each. Pretended we might order more to get a menu again and found she had picked the most expensive thing on the menu.
We found a really good breakfast buffet on Fremont Street. And it wasn't too bad, like 15 bucks each. What sucked is they had a smoking section, which meant by the end everything tasted like licking an ashtray.
Everyone there is running some kind of scam/game. We had an Uber Driver that started out real nice, asking how long we were in town, what we were doing, etc. We mentioned being more into food than much else and he pulled out his phone and started reading off the list of who would pay him to recommend them and he told us who to say sent us.
We didn't go to any of those places.
