How many Americans have been killed by kangaroos again?
Funny you ask, they are actually different sports. But you know, Padel is Mexican in origin, so there are a lot of 'Mericans that will never call it the real name and will just call it Pickleball. When did Pickleball become "Padel"?
The other funny thing with pickleball, people kid it is an old persons sport. Not any more, most of the evenings on the courts, when I am there, I would say at least 70% of the people playing are under the age of 25!
5: It's name is PICKLEBALLThere are several reasons why pickleball has become so popular:
1. It's easy to learn (i.e. much easier than tennis)
2. You can have good, fun rallies pretty quickly (as opposed to tennis where there's plenty of ball chasing when you're a beginner)
3. It's not as physically taxing as tennis
4. You can put three pickleball courts (maybe four) in the same space where one tennis court exists. That means 3 to 4 times the revenue for clubs.
Just trying to figure out how I will be able to do that while sitting on a sandbar in the Gulf of Mexico.
What happens if you mess something up?So, I am leaving on my first vacation in 3 years soon. I switched jobs 2 years ago and just had the old job pay out my unused vacation time and didn't get enough time accumulated at the new place. Then last year my MIL passed away and every hour of time was wrapped up in that process. This year, with the tax snafu, it looked like I wasn't going to get one this year either, but while it's gonna be tight, we get to go. So, I am looking forward to a break.
We are going to be near the Father in Law and I was just informed that he has decided that what I want to do on said vacation is be helpful to him and he has purchased furniture to assemble AND I am apparently expected to paint his kitchen.

It is easier to "setup" a temporary court anywhere. IE like in a cul-de-sac you don't have to worry about the ball breaking a house window. There are several reasons why pickleball has become so popular:

I could never mess any job up as bad as the acts of DIY violence he committed against his old house. Even if I tried. What happens if you mess something up?
My first job at a photo lab - we had to do an inventory and everyone was involved. Except one person. I asked why and he told me - when a bad job comes up, volunteer. Then mess it up and they never ask you again.
I still know the guy and he still uses this method

Also, I heard a pickleball trainer tell the person they were training, in a pinch you can always practice on a tennis court as they are always open, and the net height is similar.
yah its definitely a time of day thing... early mornings its the nearly deads and evenings/night its kids. My son has been playing it with his group of friends (in both tennis courts and dedicated pickle ball courts in our neighbourhood). The other funny thing with pickleball, people kid it is an old persons sport.
