Sounds like the Sharks are the team Vancouver wanted (don't blame them, they'd be the one team I'd want to face too!)

But also, after Anaheim (overachieving all season long, guaranteed first round exit), Vancouver is the next "best" matchup for the Sharks (as in, they have like a 10% chance of beating them in a 7-game series, compared to like 3% against anyone not named Anaheim).

Anyway, let the team that sucks less win this one!

- In the playoffs, I think I'd rather have to shut down one really good line (yes, I know those three sharks aren't one line) than three pretty dangerous ones

what worries me more is that Niemi has been a lot more solid this season than the last time we met.

Well, it will be interesting to see if Crampy Schneider is able to go for game 1. I agree with Kevin Weekes that Luongo should not have been left in to face that Oilers barrage in the 3rd period (not sure what AV was thinking).

McLellan in the last month to month and a half of the season finally wised up and moved Pavelski back to his natural center position. That move coupled with the move of Burns to forward and the addition of Torres has given the Sharks more forward depth then they've had in a long time and is the reason for their improved play late in the season. The Sharks now have three really good, really productive scoring lines. If everyone is healthy they'll line up like:

Marleau - Couture - Havlat
Torres - Pavelski - Wingels
Galiardi - Thornton - Burns

Gomez has also been surprisingly good on the 4th line as well. The biggest question mark for the Sharks is on defense. Vlasic and Braun have been very good together as a shut down pair but after that it's a mess. Boyle's play is in severe decline. Irwin is inexperienced and very prone to rookie and mental mistakes. Stuart's play was pretty bad over the last 10 to 15 games of the season. Demers was playing great and logging quality top four minutes but he's out with an ankle sprain and being replaced in the line up by Hannan who, at best, is a serviceable 6/7 dman.

Why did Vignault leave Luongo in for the 3rd period against the Oilers? Way to give the goalie confidence if you have to go with him for game 1.
