Ill assume you read his history after he had his throat cut? That was some story. Hope the guy can hold it together.

Yeah, he had a job here in Columbus for a while and I know a few people who knew him. Sad story for a guy who by all accounts is a really nice, albeit extremely sad, guy.

Dreger tweeting that the Isles offered Dan Boyle a two year deal.

DarrenDreger: For the record, the Islanders did offer Boyle a 2 yr deal. Not sure on the $, but he's likely to make upwards of $5 mil per as a ufa.

He was never going to sign there, same way Ehrhoff wasn't going to either. Another useless/dumb move by Snow. No surprise there.

Doug MacLean on HC @ Noon: "It seems like Joe Thornton at this particular time only wants to go to New York, is the scuttlebutt right now. Maybe that'll change as the days go on?"

Not a rumor I want to hear. No thanks, please say no to this choke artist.

@MolinariPG: Word circulating that LAK has not- and likely will not -give other teams permission to talk to John Stevens re coaching jobs

they must have promised him that he will succeed Dutter in the next couple years ... otherwise ... tough spot

JohnLuTSNMtl: #Habs announce they will retire Guy Lapointe's Number 5 next season.

They must had heard rumblings that the Avs were looking to retire his jersey.

Habs will have retired so many numbers that there won't be any left

He has NMC and wants to dictate a trade with only one team.

He will fit in perfectly with Marty St Louis. In fact, we should send every player with that kind of attitude there. They can change the name from the "Rangers' to the "Only Wanna Be Heres"

I have no problem with Snow trying. They did offer him over 5M per year for 2 years. However, I want the new owner to clean house. Snow & just about everyone else, including Capuano MUST GO.

Yeah, as jstew mentioned earlier, Stevens will step in to the Kings head coaching role once Dutter steps aside.

They didn't sell though, it was a hoax

My guess is that it's Dan Bylsma, since he hasn't interviewed in Carolina yet, I don't think

Yep it's a good hire imo, he'll be there to work with the defensemen - I'd like to see what he can do with Luke Schenn

If he can teach them to be half as steady and reliable as he was, then the Flyers will benefit greatly.
