The Blue Jackets have signed former St. Louis Blues 2007 2nd round pick Simon Hjalmarsson (now in the SHL) to a one-year, two-way deal.

I just yelled over the cube wall "Jackets just got Hjalmarsson!".

My co-worker is not talking to me right now. He was a little excited for a moment.

I think we hold onto him. He may not wear the ''C'' on his chest, but he's become the unsung Captain of this team. He has 27 points in 40 career playoff games with us. He's played in 210 out of a possible 212 regular season games. Totaling over 150 points. I honestly hope and think he stays with us. 2 ECF's in 3 years, largely in part due to him. I think we eat the contract and he stays put
