just saw something on the weekend and wondered if it exists anywhere in the NHL (or AHL)

performance guarantees for season ticket buyers ????

now this is on a hugely smaller scale but the Westside Warriors of the tier 2 junior BCHL offer a $50 performance guarantee that if they dont make the playoffs in 2014-15, season ticket buyers get a credit towards 2015-2016 season tickets ... the $50 credit amounts to a third of the cost of a season ticket ... I could never see this high a credit % for an NHL team ... but 5 to 10% ??? :noidea:

would the NHL (& NHLPA) ever allow a team to even think about doing something like this??? lol

I just saw this on Facebook; put there less than one hour ago: Was it shown on any game broadcasts over the past few days? - It shows an upload date of 3/28 on YouTube.

My guess is that they "find" it just in time for the presentation to the winning team. - After we get a few more videos updating the "search", just to keep hyping the playoffs.

Anyone see an alternate ending in the offing? :noidea:

They showed it during the intermission or after the game last night on NBCSN

i was gonna post it in the leafs thread but it probably belongs here

the cap effect of canucks / leafs / sens (using them because there was a pre-season expectation they would be in the playoffs) missing the playoffs could be the equivalent of aboot $500,000 per team in terms of total league HRR ... and thats just using 2 first round home playoff gates in the equation

you'd think that information would somehow filter down to the refs. :yahoo:

@mnwild: BREAKING: #mnwild signs free-agent D @ChristianFolin from UMass Lowell. Expected to meet team in Chicago. More coming http://t.co/XGNIbLIrCx

And yesterday the Rangers added the Captain from the Vermont team.

The Rangers have come to terms with college free agent Chris McCarthy out of the University of Vermont.
  • He was an assistant captain in 2011-12, 12-13 and was Captain in 2013-14.
  • He was an All-Hockey East second team selection and called one of the top college free agents available. (HF)

I have tickets tonight, and will be up behind the benches. What object can I sneak in and hit Jared Boll with?

Just hurl some insults in his general direction such as the following:

"Hey Jared, in your case, NHL means Not Here Long"
"How long does it take to remove the bench splinters from your ass?"

You know, friendly banter.

I plan to spend the entire game screaming "DON'T GIVE IT STONE HANDS!" when he's on the ice.

If, or rather when, he gets into a fight I will lose my fucking mind.

Henrik Lundqvist did an interview with Puck Daddy:

Would you say this team is the deepest Rangers team in your tenure?

“It’s so hard to compare year to year, I think. Different years you have different strengths. But I have to agree that we have a lot of talent on this team, especially lately we have been able to win games in different ways. That is a huge thing, because that’s what it is going to come down to – you are not going to play great every night, but you need players to find different ways to win games. Right now all of our focus is, obviously, to get into the playoffs. But once you’re in, it’s all open. I think there are so many teams this year that can go all the way. That, I think, is exciting to know and to feel that it’s up for grabs for sure. Right now it is exciting to be a part of. There are a lot of teams fighting for the last two spots, and we have to do whatever we can do get in and go for it.”

The Rangers have been getting into the playoffs for a few years now. For a team like yours, when is simply getting in is not going to be good enough?

“Well, every year you go into the season your goal is to go for it, it is to win the Cup. We made it to the Conference Finals a couple of years ago, and I thought it was, obviously, a great experience; we took a couple of steps in the right direction. If you look over the last two years at teams who have been playing the most playoff games the Rangers will be right up there. We played a lot of playoff hockey, and that shows some consistency. But then you say ‘When is the time to win?’ Right now we are challenging ourselves to get in, and then really go for it. And I think we have the team for that. No question. We just need for everything to go our way at the right time, have everybody play at their absolute best.”
