Dany Heatley a healthy scratch for the first time in his career
0 points and -7 in the past 5 games.

the good news is, it's his last year of $7.5 mill cap hit

He just doesn't fit in Minny's system. He'd do some decent work as a third line punch winger. The question is, will his ego allow him to play third line minutes and make third line salary?

Friedman says teams in running for NCAAA defenseman Christian Folin: Minny, Philly, Wash, Colorado.

Umm yeah that's it. It could never be, you know, Dany Heatley's fault because he's been terrible. It never is his fault after all.

Heatley's on the third line. He's terrible there. Third lines, ideally, are not defensive liabilities. Heatley is a nightmare on defense. He's both too slow and too disinterested to cover anybody.

Unless Heatley somehow improves his footspeed at age 32 he'll be out of the league after next season. That is if he even gets another contract for next year.

Earlier this year I thought he might make a good PP specialist who could play on a 3rd/4th line. I watch him now and he's not even quick enough to get open on the PP.

Philly and Colorado would be solid choices. Pretty good young teams where he could probably get in the lineup sooner, rather than later.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Andi Petrillo is talking just to me?

:noidea:

I've only watched the games they've played against Columbus this year and he didn't look completely terrible. Yeah, he's not going to ever even be in the same room with a Selke trophy, but I thought he still had the hands to snipe a bit.

I just figured that the Wild expect him to play a way he never will. But a team that goes north/south and has someone who can go get the puck and funnel it to the net could use his finish ability. I would take him over at least three of the Jackets' bottom six. They have heart, they don't have hands. I'd gladly trade one heart for hands.

Looks like only one Canadian team in the playoffs this year. Bettman must be glowing

I really don't see Minny re-signing Heater. They have too many youngsters who'll be coming off of their ELCs that I sincerely hope they'll try to hold on to.

they few games I have seen of him he is just awful.
it's not even that he's not quick enough to get open, he just doesn't even make the effort.
the sniper has had a total of three shots in his past 10 games. that's not cold, that's done.
