I agree, just glad we were able to beat them, unlike last time, when they beat us at home.

This team just plays with more quickness, they're stronger on the puck. They're won more battles down low this year, then I think we've seen under any season from Tortorella. Guys being able to play a more loose style of play and try and create more offense has done wonders for us. The goals are coming, finally. Defensemen are jumping in on plays like AV wants and it's working. McDonagh and Diaz are two examples of that, MacTruck especially, who has a career high in goals, assists and points overall this year.

On Boomer and Carton this morning, Mark Messier was asked by Boomer Esiason if he thought McDonagh could be the next captain of the Rangers.
Messier responded by saying, “the only thing better than the deal that got McDonagh from Montreal is the contract they just signed him to. They got him at an unbelievable price for what he is growing into. To me Ryan McDonagh is the epitome of what a Ranger is, what a hockey player stands for. He plays every night, consistent, tough strong, durable. He brings offense and I look at him as a future Norris Trophy winner, a captain of the team, a leader in every way and you win championships with Ryan McDonagh. What an unbelievable deal it was for the Rangers.”
