The trade deadline can't come soon enough. The vets on the Flames are just going through the motions right now and they've stop caring (as they know they are going to get shipped out of town). As for the last four games, I'm going to let the following gif do the talking:

Yes because I think all the players feel Hartley is a lame duck coach (either Burke will fire him at the end of the season or the new GM (if Burke ever decides to hire one) will want to bring in a coach of his choosing. As previously mentioned, Squidy and Stempniak have been awful of late (just going through the motions as they wait until they are traded). The Flames should have also sent Monahan to the WJHC tourney, but of course Burke the blowhard knows best.

It'll be a big mistake getting rid of Bob Hartley - I think he's handled things great in Calgary and he has them playing hard as a group

I gotta be honest, I haven't been a fan of some of Hartley's line combinations (for example, putting Monahan at times with pluggers). The bottom line though is this team stinks, especially up front. I'd like to keep some of the vets on defense (like Giordano, Wideman, Russell, and Brodie), but up front you can pretty much jettison everyone (keep Backlund) and bring up Baertschi from Abbotsford. Of course, Burke likes Sven about as much as he likes Bobby Ryan.

I remember around the time that they had to make a decision on Money whether they were going to keep him or send him back to Juniors and I was adamant that he should have been sent back to Juniors because the Flames were going to start to struggle and you wouldn't see him putting up the numbers he was early on - I can't really blame that on Bob Hartley, that was Jay Feaster's fault - Bob Hartley's just trying to make do with what he has, it's like trying to polish a turd - it doesn't matter how well you attempt to polish it, a turd is a turd and that's what the Flames are dealing with

I'd like to see the Flames get more talent and see what Bob Hartley can do with this group - I can't imagine he'd be that bad of a coach if they brought in more talent or developed more talent

The thing is that as bad as this Flames team is, next year they could be even worse. If they get lucky enough to land either McDavid or Eichel though, it may be short term pain for long term gain.

I think the dream for the Flames would be to end up with Ekblad in 2014 and McDavid/Eichel in 2015 - plus you have guys like Johnny Gaudreau, Poirier(sp) and also Sean Monahan developing as well - it will be short term pain for sure but there's some potential there

What do you think about the goaltending? It seems like Karri Ramo and Reto Berra have held their own this season

Goaltending has been better than expected, in my opinion. Also, the Flames have Joni Ortio and Jon Gillies in the pipeline, so goaltending looks okay.
