I agree, he really didn't do anything for the Rangers. Just a waste of a roster space.

Which sucks, because last year he was really good. Even spent sometime on the PP for us and was scoring. I loved the signing at first but then hated it.

He was good with the Canucks & Coyotes. just tailed off the past year or so.

Pyatt hasn't been the same guy since his fiancee died tragically...hopefully he has a resurgence in Pittsburgh, but it's a really low risk thing. Also, the Pens just became more attractive. :)

The Doobster will be open minded about Pyatt. But IDK how we became more attractive. All we did was pick up the Rangers' unwanted trash. I doubt if a single Ranger fan is mad about letting Pyatt go.

I really dont think his play suffered after his fiances death ... he put up better numbers after he left the canucks/sedins and went to the Coyotes ... even last year ... 11 points in 48 games are right around his average

writing was on the wall when the rags hired AV ... He's not an AV kinda player ... size guy who doesnt use it often enough ... at the end of his time with the canucks (and once Vigneault figured out he should put Burrows with the Sedins) there were quite a few healthy scratches

Seriously? Because all i've seen to hear around here is that he was an AV guy, and that's why AV was giving him time in the top 6 and the top PP unit.

And I was sooooooooooooo against it, because hs sucked.

At the start of the season, yeah. It annoyed the hell out of me. And was playing him in top 6 shifts. Then he realized how awful he was and finally stopped.

probably was just playing guys that he knew at that point early in his rangers tenure as coach
