No call on the ice at the time of the hit, and after Koivu was taken off, the refs conferred and gave him five minutes for "interference" and a game. Puck's right there, elbows down, Koivu's head hit Dubi's shoulder.

Seriously, Moulson is solid. I'll still take Vanek, but the difference isn't a 1st and a 2nd. Not to mention Vanek is a UFA

Regardless, it is good for both sides. Tavares and Vanek are going to be awesome, while the Sabres get a good player and picks for the rebuild.

The best part is that Shero doesn't get to rob Regier now.

That deal makes a ton of sense for Buffalo but the Isles better hope for two things:

1.Vanek gels with Taveras more than Moulson did.
2. They better sign Vanek.

I am amazed they Isles gave up that much for Vanek.

If the Isles were going to make that deal, it shouldn't have been for Vanek, but for Ryan Miller - their goaltending is atrocious and the pure reason why they're not at that next step
