Pretty sure I've read somewhere (related to Boyle having just been taken out on a stretcher) that "league concussion protocol" doesn't allow players taken out on a stretcher/with concussions to play for 7 days after the incident... and they have to be evaluated daily during those 7 days, etc.

They can be listed day-to-day all they want but I don't think they're actually allowed to play even if they think they're ready...

Yeah this is what I thought - the fact that they said he already has a mild concussion tells me there's no way he would play tomorrow

could be partially that he's not dumbing down his delivery for American audiences (not saying all americans are hockey illiterates, but NBC must have at least a partial mandate to educate new people to the sport).
When he was doing the WJHC on TSN, he was good. a little exuberant (orgasmic) at times, but intelligent.

If he has been diagnosed with a concussion or was knocked unconscious then concussion protocol dictates that he be symptom free for 7 days before he can suit up for a game again.
