I just don't get social media, I guess. This has been all over the Senators page the past few days.

"No more underscore"

The seem very excited about it.

So is that a game strategy? Stop scoring less then the opponent?

In case anyone missed twatwaffle: He's still around. And he has good news:

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline 44m
#CBJ Boll and Gaborik healthy for start of camp. Each had off-season abdominal surgery.

Also states that Prout, who also had surgery should be available by the end of pre-season. So that leaves only Horton as a regular who is not good to go from the drop.

Kadri signs a bridge contract (2 years, 5.8 million deal) - 2.9 per season.

DarrenDreger: No surprise, Leafs do not expect Cody Franson to report to camp. Still a gap in negotiations.

in 2013: "Hodgson was on the ice for 3.64 Goals Against per 60 minutes, 1.97 with him off"

DENVER (AP) -- The managers of the Pepsi Center in Denver are installing permanent metal detectors to boost security at major sports and entertainment events.

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment says all patrons entering the multipurpose arena will be required to undergo a security check beginning later this month.

The facility is home to the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche, and often serves as a concert venue.

Company president Jim Martin says the permanent magnetometers will improve safety and increase efficiency.

During the 2012-13 pro basketball season, the league required all patrons to go through bag checks and get checked with hand-held metal detectors.

kind of an aside but you have to think pro sports teams in North America have been warned by the feds of something they may have heard in the chatter (ie : the new NFL leaguewide clear bag rule at stadiums)

so the teams have waited this long to implement these security changes?

No, they have not. You just haven't seen everything they've done so far.

I don't imagine the metal detectors in Colorado are directly related, rather a clever way to spend the money they get every year and reduce ingress time to events.

Remember that the "intel" comes from thousands of sources every day. Just today, I have eight different warnings about cyber attacks on the financial sector today. Some far more credible than others. So if they got something specific about things coming in to stadiums and they feel its credible enough to warrant a move to a clear bag policy, they do it.

I took a tour of the Horseshoe and the stuff they do there is unreal. There may not be many places safer to be than a professional or big time college sports arena, actually.
