So weird. The official NHL propaganda channel supports what the league does?

Meanwhile, Rangers not holding back, saying Parros should be fired.

If Rick DiPetro couldn't take a punch he should have never invited Brent Johnson to fight.
That whole fiasco started and carried on for a while because Blake Comeau couldn’t skate with his head up and got drilled by Talbot.

Clean hit!

It was Letang like I originally thought. Talbot got him too.

Little Blake should have kept his head on a swivel.

Sort of but he made himself out to be an ass because he was simultaneously paying Matt Cooke.

Sources said Lemieux privately had been fuming since the Penguins' game with the New York Islanders on Friday, which ended with the third-most penalty minutes in an NHL contest in the past 21 years.

"If the events relating to Friday night reflect the state of the league, I need to re-think whether I want to be a part of it," his statement said.

"The NHL had a chance to send a clear and strong message that those kinds of actions are unacceptable and embarrassing to the sport. It failed."
Will forever be a stain on the Pens organization.

I texted this to my brother. I got a solution .

Their needs to be a committee of 7 or 9.

2 or 3 Retired Tough guys
2 or 3 Retired Regular players that are respected, Think Joe Thornton,
2 ex head coaches.
1 respected owner

Is this reaching levels of the Wings and Dives from 1997 yet?

Looks to me like you can probably just make it 5 or 6 guys and save some money

I would add an unaffiliated agent. Get the full perspective of the effect it has on the injured player and their future earnings.

And maybe replace the owner with an ex-GM.

That particular fight has stuck with me. I don't remember anything else in that game.

Then the next time they played the Isles brought up all their goons and beat the shit out of the Pens in every aspect of the game.

We could get classy HoFers like Shanahan and Pronger and intelligent and respected tough guys like George Parros. That'll fix the problem

I’ve watched the highlights of that game a time or three. It was fucking crazy.

Glad we agree then.

its too bad Panerin git hurt, but that post is just dramatics from the Rangers.

Yeah it is fucking hilarious that the league seems to prioritize bad PR more than on-ice shit that actually affects their personnel. We're totally on the same page here.

I have nothing but my own suspicious nature to go on, but Shanahan got off to a great start when he was in charge of NHL supplementary discipline (as the video shows below) and then I believe was instructed to tone things down by the league. 8 regular season games where he also factored in prior suspension history over multiple years.

You're not wrong about Shanahan, I obviously included him primarily because he was a bigger name than Stephane Quintal. But at the same time his time in the position didn't change things much at the DoPS so I'm not sure it's entirely unfair to use him in my sarcastic joke :noidea:
