I remember it being pretty amazing afterwards though. Struggling through that, securing funding for the team and finally getting him some help and then Cups. I remember his first game back from Cancer against my Leafs and I didn't care that he was awesome in it.

There are a lot of good memories from Mario and the amount of winning in the 90s takes some of the hurt away from what went on a decade before.

I remember a long time ago when Proline lottery came out and betting the under was money. Back then the sheets came out a few days early. Teams would lose players but the lines stood.

No idea what the article says but figured this might be fun: what was the worst version of your team you ever saw?
I would legitimately say last season. They weren't the worst Sabres team ever (hello tank years), but it was their lowest full-season point total ever outside of the tank and expansion years. And it was supposed to be the year that they made a legitimate push towards the POs following the rebuild, but instead dropped by 16 points over the prior.

Damn, seems like scoring is up this year - we may need smaller nets after all. Maybe putting the pucks in a humidor may do the trick as well.

/and while we’re at it we should bring back the low glass on the half boards too

Their GM did come from Washington. Old habits and all that.

Maybe we can go back to normal human sized goalie gear.

And by the way, someone is going to have to remind what the knock is on Anthony Duclair.

Because in 3 games he's played his way from the 4th line to the second and was a major factor last night. He's got speed, toughness, vision and a wicked shot.

4th team in 5 seasons, either a great trade chip or way too inconsistent so teams let him go before the trade value is gone?

Honestly not sure but I think he is the type of player that has to be in a top 6 role. The knock probably comes from when he isn't producing they put him a bottom 6 role which hinders his abilities.

Heck, let's bring back touch icing too, if a guy is scoring too much, run him into the end boards on a race for that puck :D
