^ What about Antarctica? Gotta be the Flyers since there are mostly Penguins there.

The most recent NHL lockout cost 34 regular season games and led to losses of over $70 million for the league, but it was a good year for commissioner Gary Bettman, who apparently received a raise for his efforts.

Yahoo! Sports' Puck Daddy cites a report by Chris Botta of Sports Business Journal that puts Bettman's earnings during the 2012-13 season at $8.8 million, a half-million more than he earned in the previous fiscal year.

Now where did I put my torch and pitchfork?

There is something ironic about the fact he would be the 14th-highest paid player if he were one.

Though if you take it as a per game amount and project it out to a full 82 game season it would be a cap hit of just over $15M, which would be $5.5M over the highest player cap hit that year.

Sounds like Tyler Dellow has landed a gig with a NHL team providing analytics analysis. I'm guessing Edmonton, but nothing confirmed as of yet.

Confirmed via DGB (with a shot baby!)

I always believed that Tyler Dellow would realize his lifelong dream of working for an NHL team, but I guess the Oilers are close enough.
