It's a complete disaster. The Long Island practices and BK games are absurd. They need a rink in BK and just be done with it. You can't have guys commuting to BK on game days at 9am because of travel.

Aviator would work perfectly, no?

Why would the Islanders do ANYTHING that makes sense?

Maybe that's in the cards down the road, who knows. I guess it seemed unreasonable for this first season to go smoothly. You can't expect an entire organization's employees to pick up and relocate in 10 months. While it's only 17 miles from Hempstead, it's still NY. So therefore, that 17 miles might as well be South Jersey.....

Years or months? Regardless, I think the comparison isn't great. The Isles only moved 17 miles. So many of the employees of the team aren't in a rush to uproot and move to BK. Going from Atlanta to Winnepeg, well....you are forced to make the move. Isles aren't forced. Is what I'm saying making any sense?

(It was months) I get it completely. It's one thing if your company to completely relocate, and in the case of the Thrashers/Jets move I bet a lot of lower level employees simply lost their jobs. With the Isles move, I imagine most stayed on board, and are faced with a "do we move ten miles just to shorten a commute" question.

This is bullshit lol. Companies relocate offices within metro areas all the time. Like your job? Deal with it.

Well higher paying jobs are in cities, so yes, most probably just deal with it. I live 34 miles outside DC in suburban VA. Guess what? I travel into DC because the job pays more. My commute kills me though.....

I did the same when I was younger and couldn't afford to move to the city. 2 hours each way. That was lovely.

Now I drive for 20 minutes and smile the entire time.

and say a little prayer for those people stuck on the Gardiner Expressway.
It's funny though, the Gardiner is bad but it's not even close to the worst the city has to offer. The 401 eastbound is a nightmare at any time of day (even with 8 god damn lanes), and the highways through Mississauga are much worse than the Gardiner. Even with the Gardiner down to 2 lanes each way so they can essentially replace the highway (because while the great cities of the world tear down their downtown elevated expressways, you'll pry ours from our cold dead car batteries), it still doesn't compare to the QEW once you exit the city.

Indeed. I head up the DVP when the traffic is headed downtown, and down the DVP when rush hour heads north.

Life is so good these days I actually have the time to shower daily!

I'm sure your co-workers are pleased (lol).

I walk a block to work. Actually it's less than a real city block.

Those you don't have to worry about crumbling underneath you like you do the Gardiner though.

Yeah but I'm not younger. I have a family. So it blows. I see my kid about 2 hours a day.

Anyone looking for a seasoned insurance professional who likes bourbon and hockey?
