Anyway, this is stupid. Like I said, Dustin Brown is the captain of two Cup winners. They're usually better than him, but if that's what the captain brings, most teams are fine with whoever they put the C on.

Fans of certain teams have no idea what being a captain means. Because they've never had a real one.

Fans of all teams have no idea whether or not their captain is a good one, because they aren't at all involved with or privy to what happens in close to 99.9% of the situations where a team's captain is needed or can be evaluated.

Maybe he'll win that Mark Messier Award though. The trophy named after and selected by a guy whose teams missed the playoffs as often as they made them while he was captain and drove Trevor Linden out of Vancouver because he couldn't handle having another voice in the room. Best captain evah though.

I just liked this because I agree with it, but I'm conflicted because I obviously don't want to see Ottawa do the right thing. I'm similarly torn about Montreal getting rid of Therrien, would be a good thing for them but shouldn't I be hoping for bad things for them?
